TETFund Boss Tell LG Chairs Make Investment for Tertiary Education

The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, has called on Local Government Areas (LGAs) to make strategic investments in tertiary education. Echono emphasized the importance of LGAs playing a more active role in supporting tertiary institutions to enhance the quality of education in Nigeria.

During his address, Echono highlighted the critical need for LGAs to allocate resources towards improving infrastructure, facilities, and educational programs in tertiary institutions. He stressed that such investments would not only benefit the local communities but also contribute to the overall development of the country.

Echono’s call comes at a time when there is a growing need for collaborative efforts between different levels of government and stakeholders to strengthen the education sector. The TETFund has been instrumental in funding various projects and initiatives in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, and Echono’s appeal to LGAs is aimed at amplifying these efforts.
