In Jacksonville, Florida, one teacher from Douglas Anderson School dey among 19 Duval County Public School (DCPS) employees wey dem temporarily remove from their jobs since August.
The reason for dis removal na because of reports from de ‘Know the Line’ campaign, which dey help keep students safe. Since de campaign start in late August, over 100 reports don dey submitted through different forms.
Out of de 19 employees wey dem remove, nine be teachers, two be PE teachers, and one be health teacher. Four be paraprofessionals and three be security guards. One of de teachers from Douglas Anderson was reported on September 18 for having an OnlyFans page, which be a site primarily used by sex workers.
Superintendent Dr. Christopher Bernier talk about de ‘Know the Line’ campaign during de October 1 school board meeting. He say, “We continue to work de process of ‘Know the Line’. I believe we’ve had more teachers this year identified and put on temporary duty but that’s exactly what should be happening in an organization that is now watching more carefully to ensure both our students, adults, and other people who visit our school are in de safest position possible.”
De Duval County School Board also pass an updated ethics policy in September after several employee misconduct issues. De policy aim to define healthy boundaries for students and employees.
