Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) don dey criticize the Federal Government‘s renegotiation committee wey dey handle the issues of university staff.
According to reports, SSANU and NASU dey fear say the renegotiation go favor only the academic staff, leaving the non-teaching personnel behind. Dem say dis no fair and dem no go agree to any deal wey no consider dem well-being.
The unions also point out say the previous renegotiations wey start since 2017 never really move forward because of many delays and unforeseen circumstances. Prof. Nimi Briggs led the previous committee, but dem never reach any conclusive agreement.
SSANU and NASU dey call on the Federal Government to ensure say any renegotiation committee must be fair and inclusive, considering the needs and rights of all university staff, not just the academic ones.
