Sokoto Dash Military 10 New Patrol Vehicles to Fight Bandits

Sokoto State government don dey take serious steps to help military tackle banditry for di region. On Thursday, October 11, 2024, di Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, hand over 10 new operational vehicles to military forces in Sokoto State.

Dis donation be part of di state government’s effort to boost di security operations against bandits who dey wreak havoc in di North-West region. Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and di state government believe say dis vehicles go help di military to patrol and secure di areas better.

These 10 patrol vehicles no be di first set wey di state government don give to security agencies. Earlier, dem don allocate 100 vehicles to help fight banditry in di state. So, dis new set of vehicles be supplementary to di ones wey dem give before.

Despite di ongoing military operations, bandits still dey cause trouble in places like Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina states. Di notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, still dey at large, and his group dey impose levies on communities and kill innocent people.

Di Chairman of Isa Local Government Area in Sokoto, Sharifu Kamarawa, appeal to di military to establish a camp in Kagara to protect di eastern part of Isa town which still dey under di control of bandits.
