Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, ya bayyana barazana ta korar da kowanne mai take da keke matarsa a ƙarƙashin majalisar sarautar Kano. Sanusi ya fada haka a lokacin buka taron 2024 National Dialogue on the Role of Islamic Opinion Leaders in the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Northern Nigeria a Jami’ar Bayero.
Sanusi ya kuma kira da a sake duba Section 55 na Penal Code Law of Nigeria, wanda yake ba da izinin mijin ya ‘sasanta’ matarsa idan ya fi duniya da al’ada halal. Emir ya ce an yi amfani da wannan tanadi ba tare da adalci ba, musamman a Arewacin Nijeriya.
Ya nuna cewa wani bincike da aka gudanar a kotuna tara na Shari’a a Kano ya nuna cewa kashi 45% na kisan gilla a kotuna sun shafi tashin hankali na jinsi. Emir ya ce matan da aka yi wa tashin hankali sun samu raunuka kamar fataken wuyan kuma wasu sun samu bugun duka.
Sanusi ya ce mijin da yake keke matarsa ya fi dabbanci ne, kuma gwamnati ta kamata ta haramta irin wadannan ayyukan. Ya kuma ce Nijeriya ta yi kama haka da kasashen Musulunci wanda suka haramta irin wadannan ayyukan.
