Ryan Gravenberch, de Dutch midfielder wey join Liverpool, dey make waves with him new role in de team. In a recent interview with Liverpoolfc.com, Gravenberch talk about how him switch to a deeper midfield role come ‘naturally’ under de guidance of head coach Arne Slot.
Gravenberch admit say him even surprise himself with him recent form. After helping Liverpool defeat Bologna in de Champions League, him claim de September’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of de Month prize. Him say, “I really enjoy it. Obviously I get de minutes now and for me I just try to be consistent every game and to show myself every game and I think it’s going really well. I’m feeling really good.”[3).
Him also talk about how him gel with other teammates in midfield, especially Dom Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. “I know Dom and Alexis really well. If you play often with them, you know de quality of them and then – I don’t know de word for it – but when Mac Allister goes higher, I have to come on, so we know from each other what de other guys are going to do,” him explain[3).
Gravenberch’s new role as a No.6 midfielder, which involves more defensive duties, has been a surprise even to himself. “Back in de days when I played with Ajax in de youth team I didn’t like to defend But now when you take off de ball from another player it’s like, ‘Yes, I have it!’ I want to take de next one and de next one again. I enjoy it,” him say[3).
Ahead of their match against Crystal Palace, Gravenberch express confidence in de team’s momentum. “It’s a really good feeling. I think we won everything except de game against Nottingham Forest. We have a really good feeling. On Saturday it’s de next game so we have to be ready for that one as well,” him add[3).
