The House of Representatives don dey urge Federal Government to quickly send the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the National Assembly. Dis call come on Wednesday as the lawmakers dey prepare for the 2025 budget process.
According to dem, timely submission of MTEF dey crucial for proper planning and approval of the budget. Dem say dis will help ensure that the budget process no dey delayed and that all necessary steps dey taken to meet the financial needs of the country.
This demand come at a time when the government dey work on several economic reforms and social intervention programmes to improve the living standards of Nigerians. The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, recently talk about how the increased revenue for 2024 dey being used to finance these programmes and address societal needs.
The lawmakers believe say early submission of MTEF will help dem to thoroughly review and approve the budget, ensuring that it aligns with the country’s economic goals and priorities.
