One Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) don talk say removin fuel subsidy bifor fixin refineries na big mistake. Dis comment come out as Nigeria dey struggle with high fuel prices and scarcity since dey remove fuel subsidy.
According to de report, de SAN say dat de decision to remove fuel subsidy without first fixin de refineries go cause more hardship for Nigerians. Dey argue say dat if de refineries were functional, de cost of fuel would be lower and more stable.
De Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and de Petroleum Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) also dey express deir concerns about de current situation. Dey say dat de lack of functional refineries and de reliance on imported fuel dey drive up de cost of petrol, making it difficult for dem to sell at affordable prices.
De Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) don issue bulk purchase license to independent marketers to off-take from Dangote refinery, but dis solution still no address de root cause of de problem, which be de non-functional state of Nigeria’s refineries.
