Ranar Duniya na Ciwon Sukari 2024, wacce ake yi a ranar 14 ga watan Nuwamban kowace shekara, tana da ma’ana da mahimmanci mai yawa a fannin kiwon lafiya. A shekarar 2024, babban jigo na ranar ita ce ‘Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps’ (Kashe Makwabta, Haɗa Gafarori), wanda ke nuna bukatar samun damar samun kulawa da ilimi game da ciwon sukari ga kowa bai wa tattalin arzikin su ba[4].
Ranar Duniya na Ciwon Sukari an kafa ta a shekarar 1991 ta hanyar haɗin gwiwar International Diabetes Federation (IDF) da World Health Organization (WHO), a matsayin amsa ga karuwar adadin mutanen da ke fama da ciwon sukari a duniya. Ranar 14 ga Nuwamba an zaɓe ta don girmama ranar haihuwar Sir Frederick Banting, wanda tare da Charles Best ya gano insulin a shekarar 1921, wanda ya canza rayuwar miliyoyin mutane da ke fama da ciwon sukari[1].
Wannan shekarar, jigon ‘Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps’ ya mayar da hankali kan bukatar kawar da makwabta da ke hana mutane samun kulawar ciwon sukari, musamman a yankunan da ke fuskantar matsalolin tattalin arziƙi.
