Poultry farmers for Nigeria dey face serious challenges as the cost of feed dey rise sharply. According to reports from Daily Trust, the high cost of feed and hike in transportation prices have made things very difficult for these farmers.
The Egg Sellers and Distributors Association of Nigeria (ESDAN), Lagos, don also appeal to the federal and state governments to provide more funding for the egg industry. Dem say dis funding go help reduce the burden wey the high cost of feed dey cause.
In Ogun State, poultry farmers are also seeking exemption from land use charge, as dem believe say dis go help dem manage their expenses better. The federal government has promised to boost the poultry industry, but farmers are still waiting for concrete actions.
The situation no be different for other parts of the country. Poultry farmers across Nigeria are calling on the government to intervene and provide some form of relief. Dem need help to keep their businesses running and to ensure say Nigerians still get affordable eggs and chicken.
