Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State don swear in 15 newly elected chairmen for 15 out of the 17 local government areas (LGAs) of the state. The event happen on Thursday night for Langfield Resort in Jos, the state capital.
The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), wey be headed by Mr. Planji Cishak, conduct the elections across all the LGAs of the state on Saturday. Mr. Cishak announce the results of 15 out of the 17 LGAs, with the results for Pankshin and Langtang North still pending due to non-conclusion of results collation in those areas.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Mutfwang congratulate the newly elected chairmen and commend PLASIEC for conducting a free, fair, and credible election. He say that the votes of the people count and that he is proud to inaugurate the chairmen with good conscience.
Mutfwang, who describe himself as a strong advocate of local government autonomy, promise to support the chairmen in bringing good governance to the rural people. He charge them to be accountable and transparent in their duties.
The governor also urge the chairmen to form a formidable team and join his administration in working for the development of the state. He thank the people for their continuous support and assure them that the state will only get better by the day.
