PDP dey face serious crisis, and dem don call for emergency meeting on Monday to try resolve the issues. The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, announce dis plan as the party try to find way out of the current turmoil.
The crisis start when two factions within the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) begin to suspend each other. The factions, which dey loyal to different leaders, including former Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and those who dey support the party’s Constitution, cause serious tension.
In a recent meeting, the NWC try to suspend some members, including the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and the National Legal Adviser, Adeyemi Ajibade, over allegations of disloyalty and insubordination. However, the meeting end in chaos without achieving its goal.
A court order later come in to stop the removal of the Acting National Chairman, Ilya Damagum, adding another layer to the crisis. The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party now plan to intervene to foster reconciliation and restore normalcy within the NWC.
Governor Bala Mohammed assure party faithful and supporters to remain calm, saying the PDP has effective conflict resolution mechanisms and dey confident that the current issues will be resolved in a way that strengthens the party.
