Opeyemi Aiyeola Blast Eniola Badmus: No Fight for Social Media, No Violence!

LAGOS, Nigeria — Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola don go live for Instagram to address the recent beef wey she get with fellow actress Eniola Badmus. The live session wey happen on Friday come after Badmus make one comment about Aiyeola’s hair loss, wey Aiyeola see as inappropriate. Badmus, wey be Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, write, ‘Ope, where is your front hair?’ on Aiyeola’s post.

Aiyeola no like the comment, say she feel say Badmus go too far, especially since she don also face body-shaming in the past. Aiyeola clarify say the live stream no be because of Badmus’ apology, wey she delete after she no feel say e dey genuine.

“I would like to state sincerely that I am not doing this live stream because of Eniola Badmus’ apology. I deleted the comment because e no just sit well with me,” Aiyeola talk during her live session.

She explain say her frustration no just dey about the comment alone but the public space where Badmus take make am. According to her, they no be close friends to warrant such public commentary. “We’ve known each other for over 20 years. We’ve only been hello. Hello. How are you? I don’t think we’ve even ever sat down to gist,” she add.

Aiyeola say the environment of social media fit be toxic, and she expect better from Badmus since she don be victim of online ridicule herself. “You don experience that hurt before, so why go do am to another person?” Aiyeola ask.

No be only that, Aiyeola also dey call her fans to calm down, as some don send messages to threaten Badmus on her behalf. “Nobody should take my fight, I don’t wish evil on anyone. If she don offend you before, no use me as excuse to fight am,” she beg her supporters.

She further clarify, “I was the one who was hurt and I spoke from how pained I was. Either I overreacted or not, I’m not doing any team Ope. We offended each other but it’s possible that we meet tomorrow and become intimate friends.”
