Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abayomi Oladipupo, don warn supporters of political parties to avoid any form of violence as the November 16 governorship election dey approach. Oladipupo make dis warning on Wednesday during a one-day peace and security summit held in Akure, the state capital.
According to Oladipupo, anybody wey dey caught in acts of violence, or wey dey destroy posters and billboards of political opponents, go face the consequences. He stress say the youth should no allow demself to be used as instruments of political violence, and remind dem say all actions go carry consequences.
The police boss also talk about the comprehensive security plans wey the police develop in partnership with other safety and security agencies to ensure a seamless and peaceful electoral process. He assure stakeholders say the joint agencies dey committed to preserve law and order throughout the election period.
Oladipupo reaffirm the commitment of the police command and other security agencies to hold high standards of professionalism and ensure a fair and impartial election process. He urge all political parties and their candidates to prioritize peace, stressing that the pursuit of leadership should not compromise communal bonds.
