Omo Naija, Fire Burn House, People Run For Their Life!

Lagos, Nigeria – Early morning today, residents of Ikorodu were thrown into panic as fire outbreak engulfed a residential building on Olowogbowo Street. The incident, which happened around 6:30 a.m., left many fleeing their homes in terror.

According to eyewitnesses, flames erupted from the ground floor of the two-story building, rapidly spreading to the upper floors. “I just heard a loud bang, and before I knew it, smoke filled the air. We had to run for our lives,” said Abdul, a local trader who lives nearby.

The Lagos State Fire Service responded quickly, dispatching multiple units to the scene. Firefighters battled the flames for several hours, managing to contain the blaze before it could spread to neighboring homes. “Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that the fire did not escalate further,” stated Olukayode, the fire officer in charge.

No casualties were reported, but several residents suffered from smoke inhalation and were attended to by paramedics on standby. “We are grateful that everyone is safe. Property can be replaced; lives cannot,” said Morenike, a resident who witnessed the chaos.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest it may have originated from an electrical fault. “We will conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future,” said Ayo, the local council chairman.

This incident has raised concerns about fire safety measures in crowded residential areas. “We need better regulations and inspections to avoid tragedies like this,” emphasized community leader Chima.
