Oluwo of Iwo, a traditional ruler in Osun State, don dey insist say people must address am as ‘His Imperial Majesty’ instead of ‘His Royal Majesty’. According to Oluwo, dis new title dey reflect im status as a paramount ruler.
Oluwo explain say im crown over 30 Obas during im reign, and dis make am stand out as a leader of high stature. Unlike many Yoruba towns where rulers ascend from Baale (Duke) to Oba, Iwo throne dey unique because it dey direct bloodline of Oduduwa, de founder of Yoruba people.
Im emphasize say de throne of Oluwo command respect and dey special, so dem must use de proper title when addressing am. Any correspondence without dis proper title no go be accepted.
