Ogun State, Nigeria – Na wah! UNESCO don carry their hand give Ogun State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps, Mrs. Olayinka Nasamu, for her fine work wey she dey do to bring people together despite all the wahala wey dey inside this country. E be like say this woman dey shine like star! Last Saturday, during the 2025 Batch A Stream II Cultural Carnival, she receive the prestigious UNESCO distinguished leadership award for youth entrepreneurship and cultural promotion.
The Director of the UNESCO Institute for African Culture and International Understanding, Professor Peter Okebukola, no go hide im joy as he rak down praises on Nasamu. E talk say, “This award recognize Nasamu’s remarkable dedication to empowering Nigerian youth through entrepreneurial initiatives and her unwavering commitment to promoting cultural diversity within the NYSC scheme.” (Na who no go like free compliment, abeg?)
Dem say Nasamu na correct leader, as Okebukola make am clear say UNESCO dey follow her contributions to youth development for Ogun state, and dem find her plenty deserving of this honour. E mean say this woman sabi her work well well!
The award presentation sabi sweet pass for the colourful cultural carnival wey show plenty corps members from 10 platoons display Nigeria’s diverse culture in form of traditional dances, fine attires, and delicious meals. E nice no be small!
At the end of the parade, Platoon Sevena snatch the overall winner crown, representing Hausa/Fulani culture, followed closely by Platoon 4 with their Tiv presentation and Platoon 1 showcasing the Itsekiri people. Na correct display of culture be this o! Even captains of industry, service chiefs, and government dignitaries show face to join the fun and marvel at our beautiful diversity.
Na so the event calm down with one after-party wey help corps members and guests chillax and gists about the day wey just pass. Everybody come gather, reflect on the matter of unity and creativity wey dem showcase. E be like say, if Nigeria fit dey like this always, no wahala we go face!
