Israel don dey warn residents of south Lebanon say make dem no return home yet, as dem continue to fight Hezbollah militants for the area. Israeli military spokesman, Avichay Adraee, announce dis warning on social media, telling people say for their own protection, dem should not return to their homes until further notice.
Adraee also warn health workers and medical teams in southern Lebanon to avoid using ambulances, claiming say Hezbollah fighters dey use dem. “We call on medical teams to avoid contact with Hezbollah members and not to cooperate with them,” he say. “The IDF affirms that the necessary actions will be taken against any vehicle transporting armed individuals, regardless of its type.”
The current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has caused massive displacement and death in Lebanon. Since September 23, Israeli strikes have killed more than 1,200 people and displaced around a million from their homes. Many of these people have been forced to flee to safer areas, including Beirut and even Syria, due to the intense bombardments and ground invasions.
Christian villages in south Lebanon, like Rmeish and Qlayaa, have been caught in the crossfire but have largely been spared the worst of the violence. However, residents in these villages are still living in fear, with many unable to leave due to unsafe roads and the constant sound of bombardment.
The international community has been calling for a cease-fire and criticizing the Israeli military’s actions, especially after incidents where UN peacekeepers were hit by Israeli fire. The situation remains dire, with no clear end in sight to the conflict.
