Nigerians Ready to Protest Bad Governance on Democracy Day, June 12!

**Lagos, Nigeria**—As June 12 approaches, no be small wahala dey brewing! The #TakeItBack Movement don set date for nationwide protest wey go happen on Thursday, and di plenty people wey dey vex no go let dis one slide o! Organisers don release locations where dem go hold dis protest to demand beta governance and end to bad policies wey dey affect dem lives.

Dis year wey mark 26 years of uninterrupted democracy for Nigeria, di movement dey call demself ‘Nigerians Want More!’ as dem prepare to gather for at least 20 states. Abuja, Lagos, Ekiti, and even Delta no go rest! For Abuja, dem go meet for Eagle Square by 8:00 a.m. Meanwhile, Lagos pipo go gather for four different spots: Badagry, Maryland, Agbara, and Toll Gate, all starting from 7:00 a.m. (E be like say Lagos people wan show dem strength well well!)

Juwon Sanyaolu, di national coordinator for di movement, don drop some tea wey talk say over 133 million citizens dey live for multidimensional poverty. Dis no be joke! He also mentioned say since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu take over, over 10,000 lives don lost due to insecurity wey dey scatter everywhere. You fit imagine! Nigerians wey dey displaced dey reach as high as 40,000 for Benue alone; na serious matter be dat!

As pipo dey prepare for di protest, oya police dey sharpen dem galas! Lagos, Ogun, and Niger States’ Police don increase security to make sure dem no go spoil di wahala on Democracy Day. Dem say dem don deploy anti-riot personnel to sensitive areas. But we no go lie, many dey wonder if dem go fit maintain peace (abi na another level of wahala we dey foresee?).

Previous protests we don see for di country don show wetin fit happen when pipo voice dem out. Dem dey argue over many matters, but Sanwo-Olu don clear say e dey back Tinubu’s efforts. Na wetin we go call loyalty or favoritism? Omo, dem spoon-feed reach there?

As di date draws near, many people dey answer call—students, workers, and everybody wey feel pain. Dem been dey urge pipo to step out, carry their placards, and push for governance change. Lagos no go see quiet on June 12! Na dem no go chop silence, but shout out loud!
