Ibadan, Oyo State – The Federal Government don dey raise the bar for National Cash Transfer Programme, as e go now reach 15 million vulnerable citizens. No be small thing o! Na Mrs. Toyin Balogun, Oyo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, wey yarn this one during one stakeholder meeting wey happen for DSC Hotel, Iyaganku Government Reserved Area on Thursday.
She no dey gree make we forget say social protection na serious matter for tackling poverty and the wahala wey economy dey cause. According to her, Oyo State Cash Transfer Unit don already do big things to reach many of the households wey dey suffer. Dem don cause many people make dem waka from extreme poverty to small small better life.
“Dis meeting wey we gather for na to sabi the programme better, fit collaborate more, let community people understand wetin dey happen, and make sure say everybody go dey aware of dis correct initiative,” na wetin Balogun talk.
She also highlight say dis updated programme dey coordinated by National Cash Transfer Office wey dey Abuja and e go dey give N25,000 to each beneficiary. Na him how dem dey share am na like three tranches, so each of the 15 million beneficiaries go get their share. Oyo State don even jabar that the people wey dey receive dis cash na those wey dey for the National Social Register.
She give big kudos to Governor Seyi Makinde for support wey e dey give to social welfare and also to the cash transfer officers wey dey try improve the lives of the people. No be like dem just dey slack o.
No be only Balogun dey talk, Mrs. Aderonke Adedayo, wey be Special Adviser to the Governor on General Intervention and Donor Funds, drop her own too. She talk say, “Over 150,000 households don collect from dis programme for the last six months. Dem dey pay the money straight into verified accounts wey link with the beneficiaries’ NINs and Bank Verification Numbers to make sure sey everything dey transparent.”
She reasoned say although the money fit look small, na big investment be this in terms of the people wey be fit benefit and e dey show say government dey try give hope. She no dey lie.
Akintunde Gbadamosi wey be state Programme Manager also own mouth join, explain say only people wey dey for the state Social Register with valid NINs go fit chop this cash.
