A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Kayode Michael Arimoro Foundation, don dey urge stakeholders to select the new Owa Obokun of Ijesha Land with wisdom and reverence. Dis call come after the death of the former Owa Obokun, Adekunle Aromolaran, wey dem announce on September 12, 2024.
The NGO, wey dey focus on supporting widows, girl child education, and child education generally, say dem want peaceful selection process to avoid rancour and bloodshed. Dem call on the state government, Federal Government, and members of the Bilaro Ruling House to work together and follow the historical traditions of Ijesha Land.
According to the statement from the Kayode Michael Arimoro Foundation, dialogue must be prioritised to ensure cooperation among all members of the Bilaro Ruling House. Dem urge every community member to engage in respectful discussions and act with patience and decorum as Ijesha Land navigate dis critical time.
The NGO also honour the legacy of Owa Obokun Adekunle Aromolaran, saying his memory should inspire all Ijeshans to work collectively toward peace and understanding, ensuring a smooth transition after the Great Owa is given a befitting and memorable final rites.
