NDLEA Catch Thailand Returnee With N3.1bn Heroine for Lagos Airport

On Monday, October 7, 2024, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) made a significant arrest at the Lagos Airport. A Thailand returnee, identified as Oguejiofor Nnaemeka Simon Peter, was caught attempting to smuggle a large quantity of heroin into the country.

The heroin, valued at approximately N3.1 billion, was concealed in six backpacks which were then packed into two big bags. This daring attempt at drug smuggling was thwarted by the vigilant NDLEA officers who have been working tirelessly to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.

The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the NDLEA to curb the influx of illicit drugs into the country. The agency has been intensifying its operations at various entry points, including airports, to prevent such smuggling attempts.

This latest seizure is a significant blow to drug traffickers and serves as a warning to those involved in such illicit activities. The NDLEA continues to reinforce its commitment to protecting the public and maintaining the safety and well-being of Nigerians.
