NAPOLI, Italy — The 2024-25 Serie A season is reaching its climax as Napoli and Inter Milan battle for the Scudetto. With only two matches left in the season, the race for the title remains tight, and seven clubs are vying for top-four placements.
Currently, Napoli tops the table with 78 points, just one point ahead of Inter with 77. If both teams finish the season level on points, an unprecedented playoff final will decide the champion. New rules established after the 2021-22 season state that if Napoli and Inter tie on points, they will face off in a playoff match. This playoff will last 90 minutes, and if tied, will go directly to penalties. Should the playoffs occur, home advantage will be determined by the head-to-head record between the two teams, which currently stands at a draw with both matches finishing 1-1 this season.
