Misra ta samu takardar amincewa daga Shirin Lafiyar Duniya (WHO) a matsayin ƙasa tsabta daga cutar malaria a ranar Lahadi. A cewar WHO, wannan nasarar ita ce ‘ta tarihi’ kuma karshen aikin shekaru 100 na yaki da cutar.
Shugaban WHO, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, ya bayyana cewa, “Malaria ta kasance tana da shekaru kamar da tsararrakiyar Misra, amma cutar da ta yi wa pharaohs barazana a yanzu ta zama ta tarihi ba ta gaba ba.” Ya kuma yaba jajircewar al’umma da gwamnatin Misra wajen kawar da cutar ta asali.
Misra ta zama ƙasa ta uku a yankin Gabashin Mediterranean ta WHO da ta samu takardar amincewa ta tsabtace daga malaria, bayan Hadaddiyar Daular Larabawa a shekarar 2007 da Moroko a shekarar 2010. A duniya baki daya, jimlar ƙasashe 44 da yanki daya sun samu takardar amincewa ta tsabtace daga cutar.
WHO ta bayar da takardar amincewa ga ƙasashe wanda suka tabbatar da kawar da hanyar yada cutar malaria ta asali ta kwararrafa Anopheles a fadin ƙasar su na tsawon shekaru uku maida gaba. Ƙasashen kuma suna bukatar nuna karfin kawar da komai zai kawo komawa yada cutar.
Kafin a samu takardar amincewa, Misra ta shiga cikin ayyukan yaki da cutar malaria tun shekarun 1920, inda ta haramta noma na shinkafa da sauran amfanin gona a kusa da yankunan zama. A shekarar 1930, ta sanya cutar a matsayin ‘cutar da aka sanar’ kuma ta kafa tashar kula da cutar da bincike.
Ministan Lafiya na Misra, Dr Khaled Ghaffar, ya ce, “Samun takardar amincewa a yau ba shi ne ƙarshen tafarkinmu ba, amma fara sabon zagaye. Mun zata yi aiki mai ƙarfi da kawar da hankali don kiyaye nasararmu ta hanyar riƙe da matakai mafi girma na bincike, ganowa, da magani, da kuma kula da kwararrafa da amsa gaggawa ga kowace cuta da aka kawo daga waje.”
