Mata masu doka a ƙarƙashin kungiyar International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) sun nemi goyon bayan masu shari’a wajen yaƙi da karuwanci da aka yi wa mata da ‘yan mata a Nijeriya. Shugabar kungiyar FIDA ta kasa, Mrs Amina Agbaje, ta bayyana bukatar haka a wani taro da aka shirya a Ado Ekiti.
Agbaje ta ce karuwanci da aka yi wa mata da ‘yan mata a Nijeriya yana karuwa ne saboda tarin daban-daban na al’adu, addini, tattalin arziƙi, siyasa, da sauran abubuwan zamantakewa. Ta kuma nemi masu shari’a su zama wakilai na canji da masu fafutuka wa hakkin mata da ‘yan mata ta hanyar yada sahihanci da yakin neman canji.
Kadaiyar FIDA ta jihar Ekiti, Oyinade Olatunbosun, ta kuma nemi masu shari’a su shiga cikin kawar da karuwanci a cikin cocin Kirista da masallatai a jihar. Ta ce masu shari’a suna da matsayi muhimmi wajen tattara wayar da kan jama’a game da irin wadannan karuwanci.
Rita Abba, wacce ke kula da shirin Ford Foundation a FIDA Nijeriya, ta ce taron ya mayar da hankali ne kan gano abubuwan da ke haifar da karuwanci da kuma bayar da horo ga masu shari’a domin su zama wakilai na canji. Abba ta ce sun canza hanyoyinsu na yaƙi da karuwanci zuwa hanyar kawar da ita daga kasa.
Shugaban ƙungiyar Christian Association of Nigeria a jihar Ekiti, Rev. Emmanuel Aribasoye, da wakilin Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs a jihar, Alhaji Ahmed Bakare, sun nuna goyon bayansu ga taron da aka shirya.
