Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, don unveil career centre wey go help tackle unemployment for Nigeria. The Rector of the polytechnic, Adeoye Odedeji, talk say the centre dey respond to directive from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) during stakeholders’ meeting for Abuja.
Odedeji say the centre go bridge the gap between academia and industry, and address the issue of skill mismatches wey dey contribute to high unemployment rate. He explain say many graduates dey qualified but under-skilled because dem no get access to necessary information, advice, and services while dem dey school.
The Centre for Career Services go ensure say graduates of the institution be well-prepared with the skills dem need to thrive in the job market and even become job creators. Odedeji add say the centre go support the efforts of the Centre for Skill Development and the Centre for Entrepreneurship, all housed in the same facility as a skill hub.
The pioneering Director of the centre, Shola Adeosun, also talk say the centre go seek solutions to the problem of unemployment in Nigeria and promote academic excellence within the institution and nationwide. He urge students and alumni to take advantage of the centre’s initiatives to address job deficits.
Adeosun mention say the centre be an initiative of TETFUND, and dem charge am with many responsibilities to find solutions to unemployment and accelerate academic excellence at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
