On Saturday, one man dey in big trouble after dem arrest am near a rally for former President Donald Trump in Coachella Valley, California. Vem Miller, a 49-year-old man from Las Vegas, Nevada, was caught with a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine at a security checkpoint outside the rally grounds.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stop Miller’s black SUV at a checkpoint around 5 p.m. local time. When dem search the vehicle, dem find a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine. Miller was taken into custody immediately.
Miller was booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center for possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine. However, he was released on $5,000 bail the same night.
The sheriff’s office say the incident no affect the safety of former President Trump or any of the attendees at the rally. The event had tight security, with media members and VIP ticket holders going through multiple checkpoints manned by state and local law enforcement officers.
Trump’s campaign no respond to requests for comment on the arrest. The Riverside County Sheriff, Chad Bianco, plan to hold a news conference to discuss the details of the arrest.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at 760-836-1600. Miller is scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2025.
