Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, wey be Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, don call on Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to take immediate action to reduce and stop petrol tanker crashes on Nigerian roads.
This call come after several incidents of petrol tanker crashes which have caused significant damage and loss of life across the country. Lokpobiri emphasize say the safety of road users is paramount and that urgent measures need to be taken to prevent these accidents.
Lokpobiri also mention the recent upgrade of Maiduguri airport and the completion of a 15 million litres aviation fuel depot, but he quickly shift focus to the critical issue of road safety, especially concerning petrol tankers.
He urge FRSC to work closely with other relevant agencies to enforce strict regulations and safety standards for tanker drivers and owners to ensure that such tragic incidents are minimized.
