Leipzig, Germany – As dem dey prepare for important match against Mainz this Saturday, Leipzig coach Ole Werner don talk how im go fit use their strengths to conquer the field. The man sabi say na time to look inwards and make dem standards hot for the match.
For last season, dem no really sabi how to score from set-pieces. Trust me, with just ten goals from corners, free-kicks, and penalties, dem no fit really compete for the standard availability. But under Werner, big changes dey come, as e dey put more focus on set-pieces in training.
“We go sabi work on am again just one day before the match,” Werner talk like person wey know wetin e dey do. Na him and im co-trainer Jan Zimmermann wey dey run the show, dey plan to use their standard like weapon (like double-decker bus). Zimmermann, wey don coach for places like Havelse, Hannover, and Borussia Dortmund U23, go dey the main guy wey go help dem turn standard ideas to scoring opportunities.
Wetin dem really dey hope for? Say, dem set-pieces go don turn from wahala to cake for dem. And as dem get ready to face Mainz, Werner don already warn say make dem prepare for wahala; e no go easy at all. The game go dey jampacked with action and aggression, but na wetin make this sport sweet, right?
On top of that, all ten national boys wey don go represent dem country don return fit from Länderspiel trips. No be small, e mean say dem come back ready to rock and roll! Plus, dem get new talent wey go make im debut, the 20-year-old striker wey score one goal for his country’s U21 against Wales in a 6:2 match. As e be now, e fit just start as sub (the bench go dey hot!).
And no forget Ezechiel Banzuzi, he don come back fit after im middle hand injury. Werner dey sure say Banzuzi go fit play with the hand wrap. But as usual, two players still dey cocoon for injury: Amadou Haidara wey dey waka with muscle wahala and Benny Henrichs wey dey recover from Achillessehnenriss. No be easy, but Leipzig dey gear up for the challenge!
