Kotun ECOWAS ta yi hukunci a ranar Alhamis, 21 ga watan Nuwamban 2024, inda ta umurci Gwamnatin Tarayyar Najeriya da ta biya Glory Okolie ₦10 million a matsayin diyya saboda kiyayewar da ta fuskanta a wajen ‘yan sanda.
Okolie, wata daliba ce ta Najeriya, an kama ta a ranar 13 ga Yuni, 2021, kuma an tsare ta ba tare da izinin shari’a ba. A cikin karan ta da One Love Foundation da Incorporated Trustees of Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation, an ce an hana ta wakilcin doka, an sanya ta aikin tilas, kuma an yi mata fyade a lokacin da take tsare.
Masu karan sun ce ayyukan hawa sun keta ka’idodin Yarjejeniyar Afirka kan ‘Yancin Dan Adam da Yarjejeniyar ECOWAS ta Gyara.
Gwamnatin Tarayya ta ce Okolie tana da alaka da Indigenous People of Biafra, wata kungiya da aka haramta a Najeriya saboda aikata laifukan ta’addanci. Gwamnati ta ce tsarewar Okolie ta zama dole saboda tsaron kasa.
Justice Ricardo Gonçalves ya yanke hukunci cewa tsarewar Okolie ba tare da kulawar shari’a ba ta keta haqqoqinta na asali na ‘yanci da zabe daidai da doka a matsayin yadda aka bayyana a Articles 6 da 7 na Yarjejeniyar Afirka.
Kotun ta kuma bayyana cewa yadda aka yi mata illa a matsayin keta haqqin dan Adam.
Kotun ta umurci gwamnati da ta biya Glory Okolie ₦10 million a matsayin diyya da kuma daina kowace irin tsanani da ta ke yi mata. Ta kuma nuna bukatar karewa don hana maimaita irin wadannan ayyuka.
