Jalingo, Taraba State – My people, the governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, don show us serious plans as him present N650 billion budget for 2026 to the House of Assembly. Dem sabi am as ‘Budget of Demonstration’ (Naim be like say e go flex for the state!).
Last year, na N574 billion wey dem budgeted, but dis year, dis one na higher level. Out of the N650 billion, N396 billion go for capital expenditure, while N178 billion go carry the recurrent expenditure. You fit see say dis man no wan play when it come to bettering roads and other important things for the state.
The governor make the presentation for Assembly Chambers, and him blow trumpet say him go push for better infrastructure, energy, and social development across Taraba. E no dey find trouble o, but dem say no retreat, no surrender!

How dem wan fund dis whole package? Na from plenty sources like Federation Account Allocation Commission (FAAC), Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), grants, and aids wey go show face like soufflé!
Governor Kefas talk say him focus go dey on improving digital revenue to fit catch more money from agriculture, mining, property, business and tourism. Omo, e no dey joke at all with dis plans!
As for dem sectors wey go chop funds, here is my gist: roads and transport go collect 19.84%, education and skill development go grab 15.98%, healthcare go take its own 6.19%, agriculture and food security dey chill with 4.83%, and of course, water and sanitation dey wave dem hand with 3.19%. Security and emergency services dey join with 2.96%. Na serious allocation dem dey give.
The governor emphasize say energy be the backbone of development (no wahala, we all know na light we dey talk about). He dey promise say dem go invest plenty in solar mini-grids, hybrid rural electrification, and street lighting like James Bond dey shine.
He finish am with hope say dis 2026 budget go fast-track Taraba development and make sure say people dey enjoy better life. We hope say no be just wahala o, make everybody see wetin go happen!
