Israel don reject di findings of a UN probe wey accuse dem of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Di UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, led by former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, say Israel dey deliberately target healthcare facilities and medical personnel in Gaza.
Di report, which dey set to be presented to di UN General Assembly on October 30, accuse Israel of “relentless and deliberate attacks on medical personnel and facilities” in Gaza. Dem say dis actions constitute war crimes and di crime against humanity of extermination. Israel’s actions, according to di report, don cause “incalculable suffering” among child patients and dey destroying di healthcare system in Gaza.
Israel government no agree with di findings, accusing di commission of “systematic anti-Israeli discrimination”. Dem flatly reject di report, just like dem reject di June report wey also accuse dem of committing crimes against humanity.
Di report also highlight di abuse of Palestinian detainees in Israeli military camps and detention facilities. Thousands of detainees, including children, don suffer “widespread and systematic abuse, physical and psychological violence, and sexual and gender-based violence”. Male detainees dey face rape and attacks on their sexual organs, and detainee deaths from abuse or neglect also amount to war crimes.
