Israel Launch Fresh Strikes on Beirut Ahead of October 7 Anniversary

Israel don launch fresh strikes on Beirut for di early hours of Sunday, just before di one-year anniversary of di attacks initiated by di Palestinian militant organization, Hamas. Di Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announce say dem carry out “a series of targeted strikes” on southern suburbs close to di Lebanese capital, targeting what dem identify as weapon storage facilities and infrastructure used by Hezbollah.

Witnesses report to Reuters say “massive consecutive strikes” shake southern Beirut during di early hours of Sunday. Lebanon’s National News Agency indicate over “30 strikes” target southern suburbs, describing it as di “most violent night” since di onset of Israeli military actions. Flames and smoke dey rise from Dahiyeh, Beirut, following Israeli airstrike.

Di tension between Israel and Hezbollah don escalate in recent weeks, leading to di displacement of hundreds of thousands on both sides of di border. On October 1, Israel announce di commencement of “limited, localized and targeted ground raids” in southern Lebanon, dubbed “Operation Northern Arrows.” Since di operation begin, Israel report say nine of their soldiers don lose their lives in southern Lebanon.

Di Lebanese Health Ministry report on Sunday say Israeli attacks on Saturday result in 23 fatalities and 93 injuries. Di Israeli air force also claim say dem eliminate a Hezbollah company near di northern Israeli border in airstrikes.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah‘s potential successor, Hashim Safieddine, don become unreachable since Friday due to an Israeli strike. Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warn say dem have “surprises” in store for Hezbollah, describing di militant group as suffering “very severe blows, one after di other.”
