Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, don announce say Nigerian Immigration Service don return his international passport to him. Sowore make this known through a tweet on Friday evening.
According to Sowore, dis happen after dem initially seize his passport. He tweet say, “The #nigimmigration has since released my International passport, and I flew out of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport shortly after the encounter,”
Before dis, Sowore talk say he dey face harassment and violation of his rights by the Nigerian Immigration Service. He say dem stop him on his way out of Nigeria, claiming say he dey on their WATCHLIST!
Sowore, wey be the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress for the 2023 election, don experience dis kind thing before. In February 2024, Federal High Court in Abuja strike out the treasonable felony charges wey the Federal Government file against am and Olawale Bakare, alias Mandate.
Dem institute the charges against Sowore and Mandate by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari because of their planned nationwide protest tagged #RevolutionNow in 2019. Ahead of the protest, Sowore and Mandate were picked up in Lagos State in a midnight raid by the Department of State Services.
