Di House no just dey talk, dem don tell dem Committee on Banking Regulations to call CBN and top commercial banks make dem come explain wetin dey happen. Dey dey expect the committee to monitor wether banks dey follow di banking guidelines wey dey already dey in place. If dem no gree, dem go recommend better law wey go protect di people.

Customers dey complain about plenty charges like SMS alert fees, card maintenance fees, and all dis kind tiny charges wey dey chop dem money without dem even sabi wetin dey happen. “These na serious issues wey dey affect businesses, low-income earners, and students wey dey struggle to survive. If nobody do something sharp, dem go continue to chop dem money anyhow and people go loose trust for di banking system,” Shagaya vex talk.
After dem don adopt di motion, di House don ask CBN to quickly publish beta list for all di approved bank charges to make everywhere dey clear. Dem also don charge di CBN to dey watch wether di banks dey respect di rules, and make dem no hesitate to punish banks wey dey misbehave.
Plus, dem instruct CBN make dem create beta way for customers wey get complaint about dis excessive charges make dem fit report wahala when e happen. Di lawmakers don urge di Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission as well as other agencies to help carry out awareness campaign to educate di masses about wetin dem fit do and di rights wey dem get as customers.
