Harris, Trump dey Fight for Last-Minute Advantage for Election

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump dey campaign hard for the last-minute advantages in the tight presidential election. According to recent polls, the race be very close, with Harris and Trump almost neck and neck.

Harris visit North Carolina on Sunday, where she try to counter Trump’s claims that federal agencies no do enough to help victims of the recent hurricane. She emphasize the federal government’s commitment to rescue and recovery efforts, especially after Hurricane Helene and Milton devastate several communities in the Southeast.

Trump, on the other hand, hold a rally in Arizona, where he focus on his border policies and anti-immigration rhetoric. He also meet with Latino leaders in Nevada, another crucial swing state. Despite his aggressive stance on immigration, Trump still gain traction among some Latino voters, a demographic that traditionally support Democrats.

New polling data show that Harris underperform among some traditional Democratic voter demographics, including Black men and Latinos. For instance, Harris currently earn just 56% of the Latino vote, compared to Trump’s 37%, a margin that is significantly lower than what previous Democratic nominees achieved.

Former President Barack Obama recently join the campaign trail for Harris, making a significant appearance in Pittsburgh where he addressed the reluctance of some Black men to support Harris. Obama’s comments highlight a long-standing concern among Democrats about the dwindling support from Black men, especially younger demographics, who seem to be shifting towards Trump.

The economic issues also play a crucial role in the election. An ABC News/Ipsos poll found that economic discontent and divergent views on social policies are making the contest very tight. Trump leads Harris by 8 points in trust to handle the economy and 7 points on inflation, reflecting the challenges Harris face in breaking free from dissatisfaction with Biden’s economic policies.
