Gwamnatin tarayyar Nijeriya ta fara cire haraji na N50 kan kudaden da ake tuwatarwa ta hanyar intanet, wanda aka fi sani da Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL). Harajin wannan ya fara aiki ne tun daga ranar 1 ga Disamba, 2024.
Harajin EMTL ya shafi duk wani tuwatarwa ko karbar kudi ta hanyar intanet da ya kai N10,000 ko fiye. An fara shirin fara aiwatar da harajin wannan ne tun daga ranar 9 ga Satumba, amma an fara aiwatar da shi a hukumance tun daga ranar 1 ga Disamba, 2024.
Kamfanonin fintech na gida, irin su Opay da Moniepoint, sun fara sanar da abokan cinikinsu game da cire harajin. Opay, a cikin sahih da aka aika wa masu amfani a ranar Satadi, ya bayyana cewa cire harajin EMTL ya fara aiki ne tun daga ranar 1 ga Disamba. Moniepoint ma ta fitar da sanarwa inda ta bayyana rawar da take takawa wajen tattara da kuma mika kudin ga hukumar FIRS.
Harajin wannan zai taimaka wa gwamnati wajen samun kudaden shiga, sannan kuma zai tabbatar da bin doka ta hanyar kamfanonin fintech. An shawarci masu amfani da su su shirya kan cire harajin a kan tuwatarwar da za su yi.
Wannan ci gaban ya nuna kokarin gwamnati na tsarin haraji a cikin tsarin kudi na dijital, kuma ya kawo karin kudaden shiga, amma ya kuma jan hankalin masu ruwa da tsaki daga masu ruwa da tsaki da masu amfani.
