Unknown gunmen don kill Adeleke Adeyinka, wey be the All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government, Ogun State. The incident happen on Saturday around 2 p.m. for the Jide Jones area of Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta.
The gunmen arrive in a tinted car, and one of them step out, shoot Adeyinka at close range, and then smash his head until he die. People wey dey the area talk say the killing take everybody by surprise and nobody know if na cultist attack or not. The area don dey tense, and people dey lock their shops.
Adeyinka, who be former youth leader of Abeokuta South Local Government, dey aspire for the post of Councillor for Ward 15 in the forthcoming November 16 local government elections. He also work as transport union worker for Panseke area of Abeokuta.
The Ogun All Progressives Congress Youth Leaders’ Forum don condemn the killing. In a statement, dem describe the killing as senseless and horrific. Dem demand swift and thorough investigation by relevant authorities to ensure justice is served and urge the police to increase patrols and security measures in the affected areas to prevent further violence.
The spokesperson of the Ogun police command, Omolola Odutola, say the command no be aware of the situation when dem contact her.
