Di protest begin for around 12pm, as organizers estimate about 2,000 people show up from different neighborhoods. Di main reason for di protest be di increasing cost of living and inadequate social services wey no fit meet di needs of di people.
One of di organizers, Ama Okwu, talk say, “We no go rest until di government listen to our cries. Di cost of housing don too high, and di support wey we suppose get no dey enough to take care of our daily needs.”
As di crowd dey chant, some members of di community dey carry out speeches to outline di challenges wey ordinary citizens dey face. Many speakers highlight issues like rising energy bills, insufficient healthcare, and poor job opportunities.
