Washington, D.C. – E don happen again o! The former United States Vice President, Dick Cheney, don waka go join him ancestors at the ripe age of 84. Na him family announce di matter on November 3, 2025, say him die from pneumonia complications plus heart and vascular wahala.
After all those plenty years wey him spend for di White House, all di wahala wey him cause and all di history wey him make, na wetin dem go remember am for. His wife, Lynne, plus him pikin dem, Liz and Mary, dey there as him take him last breath. Dem come talk say, “Dick Cheney na great man wey teach him family to love di country, and live life with courage, honor, love, kindness, and even how to fish.” (As if fishing matter pass di world wahala!)
Born for Lincoln, Nebraska, in January 30, 1941, him start as normal pikin wey no then sabi say he go dey important one day. E even flunk out of Yale before him go begin work as lineman for power company for Wyoming. But see, life no dey shine for him at first. But after him marry him high school sweetheart, those bumpy edges start to smooth out.
Dick Cheney kick off him political career as intern for Congress in 1969 before him finallly enter as Congress representative from Wyoming. Na from there he begin dey fly high. For 1978, him don enter Congress, and before dem know wetin dey happen, he don turn Secretary of Defense for President George H.W. Bush.
But make I no forget—everybody sabi am pass for di 2003 Iraq invasion. Na him dey push say make dem invade Iraq, based on all di vibe say Saddam Hussein get weapons of mass destruction. (We all sabi how dat one turn out, abi?)
During him tenure, Dick go dey redefine di vice presidency. E no just sit down make di president shine; no, he go dey pull strings. Even di events of September 11, 2001, just confirm wetin everybody don dey talk about him power. While Bush dey run away, Cheney dey bunker, plotting how to take action. Him go come later claim say na him make Bush no return to White House at dat time. (Talk about being in charge!)
As di years go on, Cheney’s reputation begin wan, thanks to military action and controversies—of course, who fit forget say him shoot him own friend during hunting? E no fit even come out straight; him wait for two days before e talk am!
Despite all di gbege, as e come go office, plenty people still sabi am. E don retire, but di legacy wey him leave behind dey complicated, to say di least. Even di Democrats no gree leave him alone; him own daughter, Liz Cheney, don go dey fight Trump’s vibe. Na wah!
