The Federal Government of Nigeria don dey plan to overhaul the security structure for the Northwest zone to tackle the ongoing insecurity issues. The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, make this known during his visit to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.
Abubakar say the government dey committed to ending insecurity across the country and they are working hard to ensure the success of this mission. He mention the establishment of a Command and Control Centre in the Northwest zone as a crucial step in addressing banditry and other security challenges.
The Minister also talk about the government’s collaborative efforts with neighbouring countries, especially Niger Republic, to combat terrorism and arms trafficking. He say the Minister of State for Defence recently visit Sokoto to gather recommendations, and the Chief of Defence Staff meet with the Nigerien government to discuss collaborative efforts.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State welcome the Minister and stress the need for regional collaboration to tackle insecurity. He suggest the establishment of a Command and Control Centre to coordinate joint efforts against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements in the region.
Sani express gratitude to the Federal Government for their commitment to addressing the multidimensional challenges of insecurity in the North-West Zone. He believe the yet-to-be launched ‘Operation Fansan Yamma’ will create an enabling environment for investments, economic growth, and revival of infrastructural projects that were stalled due to insecurity.
