Explosion for Karu Bridge: Many lives don dey waka for ground!

Abuja, Nigeria — Several people don dey feared dead following serious explosion wey happen for Compressed Natural Gas tanker near Karu Bridge for Abuja Wednesday evening.

Eyewitness reports show say the incident occur around 7:14 pm, as CNG tanker lose control and crash into other vehicles near the bridge. Video wey our correspondent get show voice dey call for help, dey report say motorists dey trapped inside burning vehicles.

Nkechi Isa, wey be Head of Public Affairs for Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD), confirm the explosion. She explain say di accident happen when di driver of di truck no fit control am and e collide with other cars, leading to di fire wey spread quickly.

Mark Nyam, wey dey Head of Forecasting Response and Mitigation for FEMD, talk say, “A ghastly motor accident don happen at Karu bridge between Kugbo and Nyanya. Di truck wey dey carry CNG lose control and follow crash into motorists, causing explosion.”

Many emergency teams don rush come site to help rescue di people wey dey trapped, including teams from FEMD, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Police Force. Dem dey do everything to ensure safety and rescue anyone wey need help.

As di incident unfold, many people for di area dey panic as flames don consume several vehicles wey dey nearest to di site of di explosion. Eyewitnesses report say commuters dey rush to run away from di flames wey dey spread.
