Amsterdam, Netherlands – Na wah oh! E don finally happen! RC Strasbourg striker, Emmanuel Emegha, don collect him first call-up for Netherlands senior team as dem get ready for November international break. KNVB don confirm say head coach Ronald Koeman don add Emegha to him squad as dem prepare to face Poland and Lithuania for World Cup qualifiers.
Why dem pick Emegha? E bi say Wout Weghorst from Ajax no too dey fit and Koeman no wan take chances. As dem dey gree for Emegha, e go waka to Zeist early morning to meet the squad (like as if na adventure).
For the 22-year-old Emegha, this one na big move. Him don already play for Netherlands Under-15 go Under-21, so him don get some experience for the national team level. Last time wey we see him for international scene na for friendly match wey Netherlands Under-21 win Romania back in March.
Sometime for September, Emegha announce say him go dey stay for Strasbourg till season end. “Proud and grateful to sign with [Strasbourg],” he post for social media. E dey pep talk as him drop say he go join dem for 2026 and gatz to move forward for him career. Na so the journey dey unfold, my people!
Even as him struggle with hamstring injuries early for the season and miss 11 games for Strasbourg, E don still manage to find the back of the net six times and provide two assists from just seven appearances. Na talent wey dey rare be that!
Last week e still show say him dey ready as e score two goals when him return to starting line-up against Lille. Now we dey look forward to see whether Emegha go make him debut against Poland for Friday, November 14, or maybe against Lithuania for Monday, November 17.
