Interim coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, don release the list of 23 players wey go represent Nigeria for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya.
The Super Eagles go host Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, October 11, before dem travel to Benghazi to face dem again at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, October 15.
Some of the regular players wey make the list include Captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Stanley Nwabali, Moses Simon, and Alex Iwobi. However, Victor Osimhen and Olisa Ndah no dey the list because of injury.
Victor Osimhen, who play for Galatasaray, suffer left thigh injury during one of their league matches last weekend, and Olisa Ndah also out due to injury.
The full squad include goalkeepers like Stanley Nwabali (Chippa United, South Africa), Maduka Okoye (Udinese FC, Italy), and Amas Obasogie (Fasil Kenema SC, Ethiopia).
For defenders, we get William Ekong (Al-Kholood FC, Saudi Arabia), Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce SK, Turkey), Bruno Onyemaechi (Boavista FC, Portugal), and others.
In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge, Belgium), and Alex Iwobi (Fulham FC, England) are some of the key players.
Forwards include Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan, Italy), Chidera Ejuke (Sevilla FC, Spain), Ademola Lookman (Atalanta FC, Italy), and Kelechi Iheanacho (Sevilla FC, Spain).
All the players are expected to report in Uyo on Monday, October 7, to start preparation for the matches.
