Na on Friday evening, dem send one email to customers, dem talk say dis suspension go start from September 28, 2025. Na real gbege we go see if you ask me!
The email wey land for the inbox of plenty marketers na wetin dem call ‘Suspension of DPRP PMS Naira Sales – Effective 28th September 2025’. According to di refinery, di reason for dis decision na say dem don finish di crude-for-naira allocation wey government give dem. E be like say dem dey sell too much petrol wey pass wetin dem suppose sell for naira!
“We dey inform you say Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals don dey sell petrol products wey pass wetin we allocate for Naira-Crude, and so we no fit continue to dey sell PMS for Naira again,” na wetin di email talk. (E be like say dem no fit gree make we enjoy di naira sales again, abi?).
Dem also talk say any customer wey don make transaction for naira wey wan refund, make dem apply formally for di refund. Just like movie wey dey build tension, dis news don scatter di air for petrol marketers. Di National President of IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi, don confirm say price of petrol dey go up as di refinery gree stop naira sales. Na real drama you go see come Monday, September 29, if government no do anything to salvage di matter.
As di prices stand now, na Lagos dey sell petrol for around N865, while Abuja dey sell am for N910 per litre. So, my padi, prepare your pocket cause di price fit rise as soon as dis wahala land. E go shock you to see di new price template by Monday!
Just few months ago, Nigeria government don start di naira-for-crude oil deal on October 1, 2024, wey suppose help save money for di country and make life easier for we the citizens. But now, things don turn upside down as dem don suspend am. Just on March 10, 2025, NNPC don already stop di naira deal until 2030, leaving Dangote refinery and marketers with serious confusion.
And if you troway eye, di refinery dey also wahala with di sacking of 800 workers. Na dis kind drama wey dey show say peck of palava no dey ever end.
