Bankin Nijeriya ta tsakiya (CBN) ta taba kamfanonin fintech masu suna Moniepoint da OPay naira biliyan 1 kowanne a kwata na biyu na shekarar 2024, a cikin wani yunƙuri na karfafa ka’idoji a fannin fintech.
Wannan tarar ta biyo bayan wani audit na yau da kullum da CBN ta gudanar a fannin fintech, wanda ya bayyana wasu matsalolin da suka shafi kiyaye ka’idoji. Kamfanonin fintech huɗu masu suna kuma sun samu tarar iri ɗaya, amma bayanai kan hakan ba a bayyana ba.
OPay, wanda yake da abokan ciniki kusan 40 milioni, da Moniepoint, wanda ya gudanar milyaran 5.2 na shirye-shirye a shekarar 2023, sun zama kamfanonin fintech masu girma a Nijeriya. Koyaya, tare da girman su, wasu shakku sun taso game da tsarin ka’idojin da suke amfani da shi.

CBN kuma ta nuna damu game da bin ka’idojin Know Your Customer (KYC) na kamfanonin fintech. A watan Afrilu 2024, bankin ta tsakiya ta haramta ɗaukar sabon abokin ciniki ga wasu kamfanonin fintech, ciki har da Kuda Bank da Palmpay, saboda rashin biyan ka’idojin KYC.
OPay ta ƙaryata tarar ta, ta ce, ‘Mun ƙaryata zargin cewa OPay Digital Services ta samu tarar naira biliyan 1 daga Central Bank of Nigeria saboda keta ka’idoji.’
