Cameroon Turn Presidential Election Wahala Into Hot Soup!

Yaoundé, Cameroon—Di 12 October 2025 election wahala don turn as President Paul Biya don snatch di victory wit 53.66% percent of di votes. Dis one no be small thing as im main challenger, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, con get 35.19%. Na wetin di Constitutional Council talk!

Biya, who don dey rule since 1982 (no be today), na di oldest head of state for Africa. E don jaga-jaga for political land since wey dem born am, even as e dey jump like say time no dey catch am. E no dey show face for public too much; wey plenty people dey suspect say e don ‘chop’ vacation for Switzerland many times.

Clement Atangana, di ogbonge president of di Constitutional Council, come declare di results region by region. Dem talk say voter turnout na 57.76%, but how many pipo dey actually vote, dem no fit say. Even wey many folks no gree show face for ballot box because dem dey vex say di whole election get wahala.

Biya neva lose election before, so e don’t set di pace since e don dey run tings like say na him dey own di country. But Issa Tchiroma, e dey make noise say him win di election wey everybody dey actually argue about. Na why e don dey claim say im no go accept di ‘stolen’ results wey dem dey throway for ground.

For di past weeks, Nigeria kin watch as pipo dey protest for Douala and other cities. Dem dey call am demonstrations for truth as police don dey fire teargas and water cannon on dem. Na wa! Four pipo don die for di protest, as di governor, Samuel Dieudonne Diboua, say dem gatz defend demself against di angry mob.

As di protests dey brew, Tchiroma dey push him supporters to march ‘peacefully’ but wetin we see no dey show peace at all. Pipo don carry placards shouting, ‘We want Tchiroma!’ as dem dey try to raise di roof and expose di so-called rigging.

Dis wahala don show say di country, wey divided into French-speaking and English-speaking people, dey face plenty challenges. For di last ten years, di Anglophone region dey under serious separatist tension. Teachers and lawyers don shout for equal rights, but di government dey respond like say dem no dey hear anything.

Di fear wey dey ground now, as analysts dey talk, na wetin go happen after Biya retire one day. Pipo dey waka too dey wonder, as no one sabi wetin future get for Cameroon under dis level of tension. Dis presidential election wahala dey remind everyone say na serious kontri matter, no be only politics wey sabi sell palm wine and tell stories.
