Bola Tinubu Appoint Akpabio as SSDC MD, Senate Go Confirm

Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu don approve di appointment of Miss Usoro Akpabio as di Managing Director of di South South Development Commission (SSDC). Dis announcement come on 9 May 2025, as di President ask di Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio, to confirm di appointments made for di governing boards and managing directors of di new development commissions.

For di SSDC board, Chibudom Nwuche go serve as chairman while Usoro Akpabio, a native of Akwa Ibom, go take charge as managing director. Di President also appoints members from different states within di South-South region including Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, and Cross River, making sure dey represent diverse interests across di geopolitical zone. Dis appointment go dey confirmed after di Senate review relevant committees.

Usoro Offiong Akpabio, wey born on 10 June 1983, grow for Akwa Ibom State and she hail from di Ibibio ethnic group.
