BILBAO, Spain — La Ritirata don open new concert series wey dey happen for Iglesia de la Encarnación on Thursday, April 10. Dis concert wey get title “Amor místico” dey showcase music from Spanish and Italian Baroque composers.
Conductor Josetxu Obregón from Bilbao lead the performance wey include the voices of mezzosoprano Beatriz Oleaga and actress Manuela Velasco. Other musicians wey join them na Sara Águeda for harp, Juan Carlos de Mulder for tiorba, Ismael Campanero on violone, Alberto Martínez Molina for clave and organ, and Daniel Garay on percussion.
A dem midnight, La Ritirata bring “Amor místico” to the stage wey dey highlight works from composers like Durón, Torres, Hidalgo, and many others. Tomorrow, April 11, British ensemble The Tallis Scholars go take over. Dem go celebrate 500 years of Palestrina’s birth by performing a unique mass wey no plenty people sabi, plus some of the best motets wey Palestrina don compose. Dem also go include works from Orlandus Lassus for the performance.
