Baobab Nigeria don organize one-day internship for some members of the National Youth Service Corps and students as part of their 2024 Customer Service Week celebration. The training dey open to customers on their digital savings platform, Jollof+.
The internship give the participants immersive experience, allowing them to learn from industry experts across various departments like finance, marketing, creative design, and cybersecurity in the company.
The day-long programme also feature career seminar, tour of the Baobab HQ in Lagos, and networking opportunities with senior executives. According to the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Baobab Microfinance Bank, Eric Ntumba, “We are dedicated to empowering young Nigerians, not just through our financial products like Jollof+, but by offering them opportunities to gain real-world experience.”
The participants express their appreciation for the opportunity to learn from professionals in various fields. One of the interns, Zachariah Michael, talk say, “I have learned a lot about digital marketing, especially content creation and social media strategy. I want to say a big thank you to the management and staff of Baobab Bank for giving me this opportunity.”
A student from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Opeyemi Oluwadare, also share her experience, saying, “My favourite feature of the Jollof+ app is the Ajo. This is because you can only withdraw twice before your maturity date. I like that because I will be conscious of my withdrawal. I will only withdraw if I need it.”
